Deschutes River Basin (OC05-013)
June 2005 - June 2007
Region: Metro/Hood River

Oregon Consensus worked with the Deschutes Water Alliance, the Deschutes River Conservancy and other stakeholders to explore the feasibility of convening a collaborative process to address water management in the Deschutes River Basin. Oregon Consensus provided the facilitation services of Debra Nudelman and Turner Odell from RESOLVE, Inc., to conduct the convening assessment. The assessment was presented at the May 2006 Water Summit at KahNeeTa.  Click here for a copy of report: Convening Report (pdf)

At the conclusion of the Water Summit, there was consensus that use of a collaborative process to address Deschutes Basin water management issues should be explored.  RESOLVE, in its report, suggested a “step-wise” process beginning with creation of an ad hoc planning team to begin defining the process and the resources needed to pursue it. Oregon Consensus facilitated the work of this planning team. Click here for meeting information: Deschutes Basin Meeting Information
