Project Information

2001 Mortuary Board Region - Statewide
A recent embezzlement case highlighted the need for changes to the statutory, regulatory and consumer protection processes for endowment care providers and sale of "pre-need" funeral services. The Secretary of State's Office, the Mortuary and Cemetery Board, the Department of Justice, the Department of Consumer & Business Affairs, along with industry and consumer group representatives, agreed to collaborate to make joint recommendations for legislative changes. The collaborative process resulted in agreement on a legislative concept. The concept was supported and passed in the 2001 Legislative Session.

2000 Economic & Community Development/Windmaster Corners. Region - Hood River
Consensus was achieved on logistical and financial barriers to city sewer access through an agreement-seeking collaborative process involving a variety of state and federal agencies, local government stakeholders in the Hood River vicinity, and local landowners with failing septic systems outside the city's existing sewer system. Partnering with local Congressional representatives, federal monies were successfully secured to cover a majority of costs, and group consensus was attained on project timeline and shareholder responsibilities.

2000 Community Development Forum/Legislative Agenda. Region - Statewide An agreement-seeking collaborative process engaged directors from Transportation, Economic & Community Development, Land Conservation & Development, Housing, and Environmental Quality, as well as staff from the Governor's Office, the Community Development Office, Oregon Counties, League of Cities, Ports and Special Districts in creating a consensus agenda to mutually support a group budget for joint presentation to the 2001 Oregon Legislature.
