Oregon Consensus Neutrals Network

Oregon Consensus works with private providers to maintain a panel of qualified neutrals for a variety of services. When a collaborative process is ready to begin, Oregon Consensus assists the participants to select from a group of providers the neutral who appears to be best suited and acceptable to all. Sometimes this selection process may be a facilitated interview process or it may be an individual review of the qualifications of appropriate providers. In most cases, Oregon Consensus will serve as the contracting agent and provide impartial supervision of the neutral. However, if it is desirable for one of the parties or the agency involved to be the contractor, Oregon Consensus makes a direct referral. Oregon Consensus provides quality control of all mediators it uses. See Guide for Selecting An Appropriate Neutral

Criteria for Neutrals Working with Oregon Consensus
Mediators, facilitators and other dispute resolution and consensus building professionals who work with Oregon Consensus are trained and experienced in their substantive areas. They must agree to abide by professional standards, follow best practices in the field and to participate in evaluations of their work. Oregon Consensus provides ongoing support in the form of mentoring or coaching, feedback and opportunities for ongoing professional development among peers.

Oregon Consensus co-manages the Oregon Roster of Mediators with the Oregon Department of Justice.
